Saxondale Nursing Home

Saxondale Nursing Home provides nursing and residential care for up to 36 people, including older people living with dementia, mental health conditions and physical disabilities. At the time of the assessment 22 people were living there. This followed an earlier inspection where the provider was in breach of regulations relating to safeguarding, person-centred care and governance.

The CQC found sufficient improvement had been made, and the home is now rated Good overall.

Inspectors found risks were well managed, medicines administered safely, and staff understood their safeguarding duties. Care plans reflected people's preferences and staff were kind and attentive. Some relatives raised concerns about night staff and agency cover, and communication was inconsistent for one relative, but a new manager was settling in and leadership was described as clear and supportive.
