Saint Lawrence Residential Care Home

Saint Lawrence Residential Care Home accommodates up to 23 older people, including those living with dementia, across two floors. At inspection, 15 people were residing at the service. The home had significant failings in its quality monitoring systems, which did not identify or address safety concerns. Information about risks to residents was not always comprehensive or communicated effectively to staff, and medicines were not managed safely. Infection control practices were inadequate, with some areas of the home being odorous and furniture not conducive to proper cleaning. Residents were not consistently supported to make choices about their lives, and staff did not always follow least restrictive practices in their best interests. While staff had been recruited safely and received safeguarding training, induction and supervision records lacked thoroughness.
