Rose Farm House

Rose Farm House is a specialist residential care home for five people with learning disabilities and autism who experience anxious or emotional behaviour. The service operates from a main building containing two bedrooms and a flat, plus two annexes with individual flats. Staff have supported residents to achieve previously unattainable goals, helping people who displayed high levels of distressing behaviour to significantly reduce both the frequency and severity of their distress. Through adapted approaches and learning from experience, the need for physical interventions has decreased for all residents, keeping them safer and more comfortable.

The home has worked with healthcare professionals to help residents review and reduce long-term medications originally prescribed to manage distressing behaviours. Several people have successfully had medicines removed or reduced with no adverse effects or increases in distress, demonstrating a person-centred approach to supporting residents' wellbeing and independence.
