Redcote House Residential Care Home

Redcote House Residential Care Home provides residential care for up to 18 older people, including those under 65 and people living with dementia. Thirteen people were living there when inspectors visited. The service has been rated Inadequate overall and placed in special measures, with the provider remaining in breach of legal regulations relating to safe care and governance despite previous warnings.

Inspectors found risks were poorly managed, medicines were not safely handled, and staff were sometimes too rushed to give quality time to residents. Leadership was weak, quality checks were ineffective, and mental capacity requirements were not properly followed. Staff were caring and relatives felt able to speak up, but oversight and safety fell well short of what is expected.
