Swallow Lodge

Swallow Lodge is a respite care home providing personal care to up to 8 people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, learning disabilities, autism or dementia. The purpose-built single-story facility supported 3 people at the time of inspection, though numbers varied daily. Staff communicated with people in ways that met their individual needs and supported them to make decisions, ensuring maximum choice and control over their lives. The environment was safe, clean, well-equipped and well-maintained, meeting people's sensory and physical needs. Staff supported people with medicines in ways that promoted their independence and achieved good health outcomes.

People received kind and compassionate care from staff who supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. The service's policies and systems supported this approach to care delivery.
