About Rectory Lodge

Rectory Lodge, in Essex, is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 12 older and younger people, including those with mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism. Overall the home is rated Good. Inspectors found that previous breaches around person-centred care, safety and governance had been resolved, though a new breach was identified relating to consent, with concerns about how mental capacity and best interest assessments were carried out.

Staff were found to be caring and respectful, supporting people's privacy, dignity and access to activities in the community. Medication was managed safely and governance had generally improved, though some documentation remained inconsistent. The registered manager responded positively to feedback, and the provider has been asked to submit an action plan addressing the consent concerns.
