Rathgar Care Home

Rathgar Care Home provides personal care for up to 23 older people in an adapted detached house in a residential area, with accommodation spread across two floors accessed by lift and stairs. At the time of inspection, 15 people were living at the home. The provider had implemented robust systems to reduce the spread of COVID-19, including temperature checks for visitors, vaccination status verification, and negative test requirements before entry. The environment was clean with no odours, and PPE disposal followed government guidance and best practice. Staff received infection prevention and control training with regular donning and doffing checks to ensure effective application and removal of PPE. Risk assessments were in place for both people and staff regarding individual COVID-19 risk factors, and staff changed uniforms before and after shifts. The registered manager completed regular audits to maintain oversight of infection prevention and control practices.
