Radcliffe House

The following is CQC's published account of its assessment, published 15 June 2026. References to “we” mean CQC. It describes findings at that time.

Date of Assessment: 7 April to 20 May 2026.

Radcliffe House is a residential care home providing accommodation and support to people who have a mental health condition and have a learning disability or autism. At the time of the assessment, 2 people were living at Radcliffe House.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

Right Support:

Staff were safely recruited. Staff said they had completed training and felt supported in their roles. This included relevant training in the complex needs of the young people. Medicines were managed safely. Staff also worked closely with the internal multidisciplinary team as well as other agencies and professionals to help ensure the healthcare needs of the young people were met.

Right Care:

Records and the young people confirmed, they were involved in the planning of their care and how they wished to be supported in a personalised way. Detailed support and risk management plans were in place to guide staff in managing the young people’s complex needs and behaviours, helping to reduce incidents and ensure a consistent approach. Any restrictions in place were lawful. The model of care also considered both short and long-term goals, with a focus on reducing restrictions over time.

Right Culture:

Stable and consistent management was in place to support and develop team. Staff said they were supported in their role and the registered manager was responsive and acted on information shared with them. A range of governance systems and processes were in place to clearly evidence effective monitoring of the service, helping to identify and make improvements to areas of quality and safety.
