Prospect House Care Home

Prospect House is registered to provide accommodation and personal care for up to 24 people, with 22 residents at the time of inspection. Inspectors found significant concerns regarding people's choice and control over their lives, with staff not consistently supporting them in the least restrictive way possible. Care plans lacked person-centred details and did not contain sufficient information to guide staff on how to support people safely. People and their representatives were not always actively involved in developing their care plans.

The inspection identified safety issues including health and safety checks not being routinely carried out, with the lift operating without a valid Loler certificate—a concern the registered manager had not identified. Medicines were not always safely stored and monitored, with refrigerated medication found left at room temperature. Protocols for as-and-when-required medication lacked sufficient person-centred detail to enable staff to recognise when to administer it, how much was needed, and whether it was effective.
