About Princess Lodge Care Centre

Princess Lodge Care Centre is a nursing home in Swindon, providing personal care and support for older people with a range of needs. The findings below set out what CQC inspectors observed there.

Princess Lodge Care Centre provides personal care and support for older people, including those with a range of needs, in a residential setting. The CQC found staff were kind, well trained and knowledgeable, with good safeguarding processes and a supportive, open management culture. Residents and relatives generally felt safe and well cared for, praising the approachable leadership team.

However, inspectors found health, safety and infection control concerns, along with poor oversight of medicines administration, leading to breaches relating to premises, equipment and governance. Some feedback raised concerns about staffing levels and inconsistent care, though the manager took prompt action to make improvements. The provider must now submit a plan to address these shortfalls.
