About Moormead Care Home

Moormead Care Home, in Swindon, provides residential and nursing care for up to 21 older people, including those living with dementia. This assessment followed the home's period in special measures, and the CQC found enough improvement had been made for it to exit that status. Medicines management, incident reporting and staff morale had improved, though some care planning and risk assessment records remained inconsistent, and nurses had not received clinical supervision.

People living at the home said they felt safe and well cared for, and health professionals praised staff's skills and kindness. Some relatives raised concerns about food quality, communication difficulties by phone, and limited involvement in care plan reviews. Overall the home was rated good, though leadership required further improvement.
