Kingsmead Care Home

Kingsmead is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 40 people across two floors, with one floor specialising in dementia care. At inspection, 30 people were using the service. People living at Kingsmead reported receiving safe care from skilled and knowledgeable staff who understood how to identify and report concerns. The home has safe recruitment processes in place, and risks to people's safety and well-being are managed through established risk management procedures. Care plans provide staff with the information needed to manage identified risks, and medicines are managed safely with people receiving prescribed medication as intended.

Staff have the necessary skills for their roles and receive regular training alongside supervision and performance observations. Inspectors noted that the environment on the first floor could be improved to make it more dementia-friendly and aid navigation for people living with dementia.
