Pendle Brook Care Home

Pendle Brook Care Home provides personal care accommodation for up to 50 people, including older adults and those living with dementia. At inspection, 29 people were using the service across two of three available floors. Staffing levels were adequate with robust recruitment practices in place. Staff received supervision support, though training was not fully up to date, and a recommendation was made to address this gap.

Inspectors found that medicines and health and safety risks were not always managed appropriately, and people's care plans did not always contain necessary information despite needs assessments being undertaken. However, safeguarding practices were established, staff understood reporting responsibilities, and residents confirmed they felt safe. The home maintained good infection prevention control standards and facilitated visitor access. Accidents were recorded systematically with lessons learned from incidents.
