Parkville Care Centre

Parkville care centre provides nursing and residential care for up to 94 older people, including those living with dementia, across two buildings. At inspection, 51 people were residing at the home. The service demonstrated strong infection prevention and control practices, including participation in the government testing scheme that enabled quick identification of an outbreak. Staff worked closely with the local authority infection prevention and control team and other health professionals to manage the situation effectively. The home maintained high cleanliness standards with regular cleaning regimes and clear infection control signage positioned at entry points and throughout the building. Visitor safety measures were implemented to prevent infection spread, while alternative arrangements such as video calls supported residents to maintain contact with loved ones when face-to-face visits were restricted. Staff and residents were supported in maintaining social distancing, with furniture repositioned to enable people to stay two metres apart where possible.
