OSJCT Ermine House provides personal care and support for older people, including those with health conditions such as diabetes. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding gaps in infection control, with some equipment worn or unclean, and environmental risks such as unassessed windows. Medicine care plans, including guidance for insulin management, lacked sufficient detail, and governance systems had not caught these shortfalls.

Inspectors found staff were kind, attentive and knew people well, with relatives largely positive about the care provided. Recruitment, training and safeguarding practices were sound. However, the CQC found breaches of regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance, and told the provider it must improve.
