About OSJCT Athelstan House

OSJCT Athelstan House is a nursing care home in Wiltshire, run by the OSJCT group. It provides nursing and personal care for older adults, younger adults and people living with dementia. The findings below set out what CQC inspectors observed during their most recent visit.

OSJCT Athelstan House is a residential care home in the OSJCT group, providing accommodation, nursing and personal care for up to 80 people, including older adults, younger adults and people living with dementia. The CQC rated the home Good overall, finding staff delivered person-centred care with time to interact warmly, plan activities and support people’s independence. This followed up an earlier breach concerning person-centred care, which inspectors found had been resolved.

Inspectors found medicines were managed safely, staff were recruited properly and trained, and there were enough staff to meet needs. The home was clean and well maintained, care plans were detailed, and management was stable, experienced and well regarded by staff, relatives and professionals. Some relatives reported weekend admission delays, which had prompted extra staffing at reception.
