Orion House

Orion House provides care and support for up to seven younger adults with learning disabilities, with five residents in the main house and two in a self-contained garden flat. The service also supports three people in their own homes. Staff demonstrated good infection control practices, consistently wearing appropriate personal protective equipment throughout the building.

Where one person had difficulty accepting masks, staff used a face screen as an additional measure. The registered manager proactively helped residents with cognitive understanding by using social stories and easy read information to explain restrictions and help them feel safe. During lockdown, the service maintained residents' wellbeing through creative activities including in-house discos, crafts, and outdoor walks.
