Orchard House

Orchard House provides accommodation and personal care to people with learning or physical disabilities, supporting up to 10 people across two buildings. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, with Safe rated Inadequate, following an assessment against right support, right care, right culture guidance.

Inspectors found risks around conditions such as epilepsy and constipation were not always managed safely, staff lacked awareness of safeguarding responsibilities, and infection control had been poor over time. Some relatives felt excluded from decisions and updates. Staff were described as kind, and the service was found in breach of regulations covering safe care, dignity, staffing and governance.
