Oakdene Rest Home in Kent provides accommodation and personal care for up to 27 older people, including some living with dementia. Risks such as diabetes, seizures and hydration were not always properly monitored, medicines were not always managed safely, and record-keeping and oversight had gaps, though no actual harm was identified.

Inspectors found a settled staff team who knew people well, and people and relatives spoke positively about kindness, staffing levels and how concerns were listened to. The registered manager responded promptly and had begun making improvements. The home overall requires improvement, though caring and responsive care were rated good.
