Norwood House Nursing Home

This nursing home accommodates up to 31 older people and those living with dementia, with 29 residents at the time of inspection. Staff were praised by people and relatives for being kind, caring and attentive, and medicines were managed safely. The home maintained close links with health professionals to respond promptly to residents' changing health needs and had systems in place to safeguard people from abuse.

However, risks to people's health, safety and welfare were not always assessed and monitored consistently. Best interest assessments were not robust where people lacked capacity, and records did not consistently reflect that people were supported in the least restrictive way possible. Accidents and incidents were not recorded with sufficient consistency, and the provider's quality assurance systems had not identified these shortfalls.
