Northenden House

This service provides accommodation and personal care for up to 6 people with autism, mental health needs and learning disabilities. At the time of inspection, 4 people were using the home. Staff promoted independence and encouraged residents to make choices about their care and activities. Care plans were regularly reviewed and reflected the support provided. Risk assessments were robust and identified appropriate strategies to manage risks through positive behaviour support, with staff demonstrating good knowledge of individual triggers and needs.

Residents participated in meaningful community activities including trips to parks, shops and a farm. The home provided person-centred, kind care with staff responding well to individual needs. Nursing staff were available 24 hours a day, and the service worked effectively with external healthcare professionals. People were supported with maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff using the least restrictive approaches in residents' best interests.
