About North Hill House

North Hill House is a nursing home in Cornwall providing care and support for up to 35 older people, including those with nursing needs. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, identifying breaches around safe care and treatment, recruitment practices and governance. Inspectors found care plans did not always reflect people's needs, risks were not fully managed, and staff recruitment checks lacked rigour.

Despite this, people and relatives praised the caring staff, calling them "kind" and "like a second family". Food quality had improved and call bells were answered promptly. The provider had already begun strengthening management and governance arrangements following concerns raised by the local authority.
