Newton House

Newton House provides residential care and support for up to seven people with a learning disability, some of whom are autistic. The service offers twenty-four hour support from a staff team, with six people living there at the time of inspection. The registered manager and staff team supported people to have maximum choice, control and independence over their own lives. Staff focused on people's strengths and promoted what they could do, enabling people to have fulfilling and meaningful everyday lives. People were supported to pursue their interests and achieve their personal aspirations and goals. The service provided care in a safe, clean, well-equipped and well-maintained environment that met people's sensory and physical needs. However, safe recruitment procedures were not consistently used to ensure staff were of good character and suitable for their roles.
