Winchcombe Place

Winchcombe Place is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 80 people across three floors in one building. The first floor specialises in dementia care, while the second floor supports people requiring nursing care. Each person has their own bedroom with en-suite facilities and access to a private garden. At inspection, the home was supporting 56 people.

The home had experienced staffing concerns raised by staff and health professionals, but the provider responded by significantly increasing staffing levels and doubling the number of registered nurses deployed. People experienced safe care and were protected from avoidable harm. Staff had completed safeguarding training and knew how to recognise and report abuse. The recruitment process was robust, including thorough checks on candidates' previous conduct in care roles to ensure their suitability.
