Newhey Manor Residential Care Home

Newhey Manor is a residential care home in Rochdale, providing personal care for up to 24 older people, some living with dementia. The CQC found the service requires improvement overall, having previously been rated good. Inspectors identified four breaches of regulations covering consent, safe care and medicines, premises and equipment, and governance.

Medicines were not always managed safely, and the environment did not always mitigate risks. Care records lacked person-centred detail, and people's privacy and dignity were not consistently respected. Management oversight was weak, with issues going unidentified, though staff were said to be approachable and people felt able to raise concerns.
