Lakeside Residential Care Home

People reported that medicines were administered safely and staff had received relevant medicines training. Residents and their relatives told inspectors they felt safe, describing staff as very caring. Risks to people had been assessed and incidents analysed to ensure lessons were learnt, with staff having robust background checks in place before starting work.

Care plans were personalised and contained key information to guide staff, though some information was outdated and did not reflect staff's current knowledge of people's care needs. The provider's auditing processes needed improvement to ensure records contained accurate information to guide staff and monitor people's continuing care needs. Recommendations were made regarding the accurate recording of staff training requirements to ensure staff have the relevant knowledge and training to meet the specific needs of residents living at the service.
