About Oaklands - Respite

Oaklands - Respite is a residential care home in Rochdale, offering a place where individuals can feel supported during times when a little extra help is needed. The team here understands how important it is for families to feel confident and at ease when exploring respite care options for their loved ones. Rochdale itself is a welcoming community, and Oaklands aims to reflect that same sense of warmth within its doors.

Oaklands House in Milnrow, Rochdale provides accommodation for 13 people diagnosed with mental health problems aged 18 and over. The service operates from a large period building with extensions, offering 13 single bedrooms. At the time of inspection, all 13 bedrooms were occupied.

Safety management presented significant concerns. Fire safety and premises maintenance issues were identified that put residents at risk of harm. The service lacked a clear auditing process, and policies and procedures were not readily available during the inspection.

Without adequate oversight systems in place, it was unclear how the provider monitored safety concerns or responded when residents' needs changed.
