New Elmcroft

New Elmcroft, part of Shaw Healthcare Limited, is a residential care home accommodating up to 60 people in one adapted building. It provides nursing care for older adults living with a range of healthcare needs, disabilities, and dementia. At the time of inspection, 46 people were living at the home.

However, inspectors found significant concerns with the quality of care provided. People did not consistently receive care in line with their assessed needs and individual care plans. Safe wound care was not always delivered as guidance from health professionals was not being followed, which put people's health and safety at risk. People were also not being properly monitored for changes to their conditions.
