Mostyn Lodge Residential Home

Mostyn Lodge provides personal care for up to 16 older people, many with dementia, in an adapted building where each person has their own bedroom. The home offers shared lounges, kitchen access, and a garden. During inspection, residents felt comfortable with staff and reported feeling safe. However, safeguarding systems were not being consistently followed or were ineffective, and information about concerns was not being shared with external bodies like CQC or the local authority.

While some risks such as pressure care and equipment use were assessed properly, care plans lacked guidance in other important areas. Staff had limited direction on supporting residents who became distressed or upset, and on supporting eating and drinking. Individual medicine administration records included residents' preferences for receiving support with their medication.
