About Millreed Lodge Care Home

Millreed Lodge Care Home is a nursing home in Calderdale, offering personal care for people with a range of needs, including those living with dementia. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Millreed Lodge Care Home, in Calderdale, provides personal care for up to 36 people, including some living with dementia. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, having found that governance systems had not always identified problems with care documentation, safeguarding, and staff understanding of the Mental Capacity Act. Care records did not always reflect people's needs or show their involvement in planning.

People and relatives spoke warmly of the care provided, describing staff as kind and supportive, though call bells were sometimes answered slowly and people were not always helped to stay in control of their care. A new, experienced manager had recently been appointed, and the provider made immediate improvements during the assessment.
