Middlefield House Nursing Home

Middlefield House is a nursing home providing personal and nursing care for up to 18 people with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, or associated physical needs. The home is larger than typical domestic properties but designed to blend into the residential area with no identifying signs. At inspection, 17 people were using the service. Staff were aware of their safeguarding responsibilities, and the provider worked closely with local authority teams to manage any safeguarding concerns. Risks to people's safety were assessed and managed using evidence-based tools, and medicines were stored and managed well. Staff had received effective training for their roles.

During inspection, inspectors identified issues with environmental cleanliness that the quality monitoring processes had not highlighted. The senior management team reviewed their infection prevention procedures during the inspection. The service had a clear management structure and communication strategies in place.
