Meadow Acres

Meadow Acres, in Hertfordshire, provides personal care to people with a learning disability and autistic people, supporting eight people at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, finding shortfalls in risk management, restrictive practices and governance that posed risks to people's safety. Care plans did not always reflect people's goals or preferences, and communication support and access to meaningful activity varied between individuals.

Inspectors found breaches relating to safe care, person-centred care, dignity and respect, and governance. Relatives felt their family members were safe and well cared for, and new leadership had begun improving risk assessments and monitoring. Continued work on staffing, communication and governance is needed to raise standards to a good rating.
