Strathmore Lodge

Strathmore Lodge is a residential care home providing accommodation for 19 people, some of whom live with dementia, across three floors. At inspection, 17 residents were living at the home. The service demonstrated strong infection control practices, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment by staff and social distancing in communal areas. The provider maintained safe staffing levels and the registered manager lived on-site to support both staff and residents during the inspection period. Policies and risk assessments were in place for managing the service safely.

The home managed visitor access securely while encouraging residents to maintain family contact through video calls. New admissions and residents returning from hospital were required to isolate in their rooms for a set period to protect other residents, even with negative test results. Testing for both staff and residents was well-organized and conducted regularly throughout the inspection period.
