This residential care home accommodates up to 15 older people and those living with dementia in a single adapted building. At inspection, 15 people were using the service, including two in hospital. While people reported feeling safe and relatives expressed no safety concerns, inspectors identified significant gaps in risk assessment documentation and safeguarding practices. Mental capacity assessments lacked detail about specific decisions and their rationale, and staff did not consistently support people with maximum choice and control in the least restrictive way. The home's staffing deployment meant communal areas were not always supervised, limiting opportunities for social activities. Medication practices were generally safe, though improvements were needed for when-required medications.

The service had quality auditing systems in place, but senior staff were not involved in this oversight process. There were no contingency plans to maintain quality monitoring when the registered manager was absent, and the provider demonstrated limited oversight of the home's operations.
