About Maidstone Care Centre

Maidstone Care Centre is a nursing home in Kent, providing personal and nursing care to older people, including those living with dementia. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent assessment of the service.

Maidstone Care Centre, in Kent, provides personal and nursing care for up to 58 people, including those living with dementia. The CQC found the service rated Requires Improvement overall, having made progress in several areas but remaining in breach of regulations covering safe care and good governance, particularly around medicines management.

Inspectors found people were supported by kind, caring staff who respected their choices, with improved person-centred care and better adherence to the Mental Capacity Act. However, medicines had not always been managed safely, governance systems were still being embedded, and feedback on staffing levels remained mixed, with some relatives noting staff seemed stretched.
