Lonsdale Midlands Ltd - New Street North

Lonsdale New Street North is a residential care home providing personal care to seven people with learning disabilities, with capacity for up to eight. The service occupies one adapted building across two floors, offering individual bedrooms and two self-contained flats. Staff support people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, operating in the least restrictive way possible and in residents' best interests. The model of care maximises people's choice and enables them to pursue social interests and participate in their local community.

However, the inspection identified areas requiring improvement. Some care records were not kept up to date, and checks to ensure staff administered medicines safely were not being completed consistently. The service demonstrated commitment to the underlying principles of supporting autistic people and those with learning disabilities through appropriate policies and systems, though these operational gaps needed addressing to strengthen safeguarding and care quality.
