Longwood Grange

Longwood Grange provides personal care for up to 34 people, including those living with dementia, with accommodation and communal areas spread across the ground and first floors. At inspection, 30 people were using the service. Staff numbers were sufficient to meet people's needs, though their deployment was sometimes disorganised. The home recruited staff safely and carried out thorough assessments of people's care needs and risks, protecting them from abuse and harm. Accidents and incidents were reported and managed appropriately, with learning used to drive improvements.

Medicines were managed safely and infection prevention and control practices were secure. The environment required refurbishment in some areas, with the provider having a plan to address this. The registered manager maintained good oversight of the service, engaging effectively with people, relatives, staff, and external agencies to ensure quality care and support.
