The Oakes Care Centre

This care centre accommodates 46 people across ground and first floor accommodation, with specialist dementia care provided on the first floor. The home offers personal care and support to people with assessed care needs.

Medication management presented some safety concerns. Body maps for pain relief patches were not in place, and one person had missed medication doses that went undetected. However, most people received their prescribed medicines from competent staff. Daily walkarounds were not consistently happening, though this was being addressed. Governance systems were effective, with people, relatives and staff actively engaged in the running of the home. The provider demonstrated responsiveness to feedback from those using and working at the service.
