Longcroft

Longcroft is a spacious building in Lancaster providing accommodation for up to 14 men who are offenders with mental health conditions. At inspection, 12 people were living there across three floors, with three communal spaces and a dining room. Residents felt safe, secure and comfortable, with one person praising the stepped admission process that helped them feel "much more relaxed, confident and reassured" before moving in full time. Staff demonstrated good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and reporting procedures, and residents confirmed adequate staffing levels met their needs in a timely way.

The home maintained thorough recruitment checks to ensure staff were suitable to work with vulnerable adults. Care records included risk assessments to reduce potential harm or injury, and the management team had good procedures to monitor and reduce incidents. Residents received their medicines on time and safely, with one person confirming "The staff make sure I get my medication on time."
