Kirkwood Court

Kirkwood Court provides accommodation and personal care for up to 72 people, including those living with dementia. Inspectors visited following concerns about Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards conditions, care plans not being followed, management instability, unwitnessed falls and medicines errors. The provider had acted on these concerns with an action plan, though further improvements were still needed.

The CQC found care plans lacked detail and sometimes contained conflicting information, with gaps in medicines records and some staff training incomplete. Recruitment was safe, the home was clean and well maintained, and staffing levels were adequate. People and relatives spoke warmly of staff kindness and felt safe, though ongoing laundry problems had not been resolved.
