About Sovereign Lodge Care Home

Sovereign Lodge Care Home is a residential care home in Newcastle upon Tyne, offering accommodation and personal care for people living with dementia and others who need support with daily living. Full details from the CQC's most recent inspection are set out below.

Sovereign Lodge provides accommodation and personal care for up to 48 people across two separate wings in a purpose-built building. The service supports people living with dementia and those requiring help with personal care. At the time of inspection, 47 people were using the service.

People were safe from the risk of abuse, with risks assessed and regularly reviewed when needs changed. The building was well maintained with appropriate décor, including dementia-friendly decorations. Medicines were managed safely overall, though the recording of topical medicines was not fully in line with best practice.
