Kirk House Care Home

Kirk House Care Home provides residential care and accommodation for up to 35 people across three floors, supporting younger and older adults with varying needs. At the time of inspection, 29 people were living at the home. Staff were safely recruited and demonstrated the skills and knowledge to provide effective support. People felt safe and were protected from harm, with staff understanding their responsibilities to identify and report potential abuse and aware of risks associated with individual care needs.

The home supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff using the least restrictive approaches possible and acting in people's best interests. There were sufficient staff to meet people's needs, and the team received training and ongoing support to address individual requirements. The home was recommended to develop its quality assurance systems to ensure they were applied consistently across all aspects of the service, and to strengthen end of life care planning and dementia-friendly environmental provisions.
