Barrowhill Hall

Barrowhill Hall is a residential care home providing nursing care and support to adults of all ages, including those with sensory impairments, mental health needs and dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding that risk assessments, care plans and medicines management were not always safe, and that safeguarding concerns were not consistently reported or acted on to prevent recurrence.

Inspectors found people and relatives felt safe, well cared for and positive about staff and the registered manager, describing a family feel to the home. However, governance systems were not effective at identifying problems, professional advice was not always followed, and previous improvements had not been sustained. The provider was found in breach of regulations covering safe care, safeguarding and governance.
