Kings Lodge Care Centre

Kings Lodge is a purpose-built care home with nursing for a maximum of 44 older people, including those living with dementia, physical disability or sensory impairment. During the inspection, 39 people were residing at the home across two floors. People felt safe receiving care at the home, with risks assessed and managed effectively. Accidents and incidents were recorded and reviewed to identify areas for learning. Medicines were managed safely and staff received safeguarding training, understanding their responsibilities in protecting people from abuse.

The home had recently recruited permanent staff, reducing reliance on agency workers and improving consistency of care. However, some residents noted that certain staff members' limited English made communication difficult. The provider had recognised this issue and implemented measures to support staff in improving their English language skills.
