Hydon Hill is a care home with nursing for people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found staff were kind and people's basic care needs were met, but some practices were undignified and institutionalised, and people with a learning disability were not always supported to have choice, control or independence in their daily lives.

Breaches were found relating to safe care, governance, personalised care, dignity and respect, and mental capacity. Activities were inconsistent, limited by staff shift patterns and a lack of evening or weekend transport, and people with communication needs were not always helped to have their voices heard. The provider had not made improvements identified at the previous inspection.
