Holm Lodge

Holm Lodge, in East Sussex, is a residential care home providing accommodation, support and personal care for up to 26 people. Inspectors focused on the safe and well-led areas of the service, and found it rated Good overall. At the previous inspection the home had been in breach of regulations around good governance, but the CQC found enough improvement had been made, including better auditing, incident analysis and feedback collection.

Despite recent changes among senior staff, the registered manager had managed the transition well, promoting experienced staff internally and maintaining oversight and staffing levels. People living at the home said they felt safe and well cared for, with enough attentive staff, good food, and rooms that felt personal and homely. Relatives and professionals spoke positively, and people felt confident raising any concerns with the manager.
