Hillbeck Residential Care Home

Hillbeck Residential Care Home provides care and support for older people, some living with dementia, and some with physical disabilities. The CQC rated the service Inadequate overall and it remains in special measures, meaning significant improvement is required within a set timeframe. Inspectors found repeated breaches relating to safeguarding, safe care, medicines management, staff competency and governance, with risks around skin tears, falls, malnutrition and constipation not managed safely.

People and relatives spoke positively about staff and leaders' caring approach, and oral health care and staff deployment had improved. However, safeguarding concerns were not always reported, incidents were not properly investigated, and oversight of risks remained weak.
