About Hill Barn Care Home

Hill Barn Care Home is a residential care home in Norfolk, offering accommodation and personal care for older people. Full details from the Care Quality Commission's most recent inspection are set out below.

Hill Barn Care Home in Norfolk provides accommodation with nursing and personal care for up to 27 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Good overall, an improvement on its previous Requires Improvement rating. Inspectors found staff were kind and considerate, well trained, and worked well with healthcare professionals, and people and relatives spoke warmly of the care provided.

However, the home was found to be in breach of the regulation on consent, as it had not always acted lawfully under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Quality monitoring systems were also not always effective at identifying concerns, though the provider responded promptly to issues raised and has been asked for further action plans.
