Highbury Gardens

Highbury Gardens accommodates up to six people with learning disabilities and mental health needs, with three residents living there at the time of inspection. The service is designed to promote choice, independence and inclusion, enabling people to live as ordinary a life as any citizen. Staff support residents in line with best practice guidance for learning disabilities and autism care.

Inspectors identified that staff were not fully aware of the Accessible Information Standard, which ensures people with disabilities receive information they can understand and appropriate communication support. Relatives felt that communication techniques with their family members could be improved. The provider has been recommended to review the Accessible Information Standard to strengthen how information and support are provided to residents.
