Hickathrift House provides residential care and accommodation for up to 57 people, some living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 49 people were using the service. There were sufficient staff on duty to keep people safe and enable timely care delivery.

The premises were clean, safe, and followed infection control guidelines, with appropriate equipment available to residents. Medicines were managed safely, and accidents and incidents were analysed to prevent reoccurrence.

Staff were kind and caring, treating people with dignity and respect. Residents were observed to have good relationships with the staff team, who actively supported people to maintain links with family and friends. The home's staff were safely recruited and demonstrated knowledge of how to keep people safe from avoidable harm.
